ROTARY AWARD FOR TGHNSLSC CLUB MEMBER

Tea Gardens Hawks Nest Active Patrol Member, Ian Dunlop was awarded the ROTARY "Pride of Workmanship Award" at a ceremony held at Tea Gardens RSL on Monday evening 22nd February.

Pride of Workmanship is an approved Rotary project instigated in 1975 by the Rotary Club
of Pennant Hills (Australia, District 1968).

The Pride of Workmanship Program enables managers in our society to help employees achieve the goal of job satisfaction, and publicly recognize them for their efforts.

Participating businesses promote the Pride of Workmanship theme of "Do it once- do it well" throughout their organization and nominate employees worthy of recognition, not only within the organization, but the wider community. Nominees of the Pride of Workmanship Program are presented with a trophy in recognition of their achievements.

CONGRATULATIONS IAN - A most fitting award!!

TGHNSLSC MEMBERS AUSTRALIA DAY AWARDS

Two outstanding club members, Ian Dunlop and Dale Stubbs were presented with awards at the Australia Day Ceremony held at Hawks Nest on Tuesday 26/1/16.

Dale took out the Junior Award for his active service and commitment to our Club where he has been a member since joining Nippers.  He is not only an Active Patrol and Nipper Age Manager but has completed many awards and is currently employed as a Council Lifeguard during the summer vacation periods.  Well done Dale.

Ian (our oldest Nipper) at 82 is nothing short of an inspiration to all who have the privilege of knowing him.  He has been an active member and passionate supporter of Surf Lifesaving since he joined Tuncurry Surf Lifesaving Club as a 16 year old boy.

Ian practiced as a Solicitor for 40 years at Singleton and was one of the founders of Hunter Valley Junior Rugby Union; a Rugby Referee and a founder of the Hunter Valley Referees Association.

He has been an Active Patrol Member of TGHNSLSC since 1998 and the same year he became Club Treasurer - a position he continues in today.

In 2015, Ian published his 3rd book "The Vigilant Hawk", a historical account of the TGHNSLSC.  ALL proceeds from the sale of this book go to the Club.

Congratulations to both these most deserving recipients.
